KC, 65, and in the fourth quarter of life answers the question:
ARE YOU LIVING YOUR DREAMS AND HOW WILL YOU CONTINUE TO ACCOMPLISH AND BE MORE?
As a farmer’s daughter, who struggled in school with a learning disability known as dyslexia, I never imagined my life as it has become. One of my early good fortunes was a grade school teacher who explained what happens to the brain of a dyslexic child.
She lovingly said, “Some rooms in your mind will be a little smaller, like the reading and spelling rooms. However, where one room is small, another will be gigantic. Your creative room will always be bright and ready for you to dance and play in.”
I believed her wholeheartedly. While I may occasionally struggle with the linear, logical side on my brain, it has been my creativity, innovation, and ability to think outside the box that has helped me accomplish the most and feel deeply fulfilled in my life.
As I have studied A Course in Miracles and the Yoga Sutras over the years, I give credit to the way my brain sees things—I can offer a fresh new perspective to those two classic texts. Over the last several years, I have shared my study of these materials in yoga classes and in dedicated Facebook groups, offering daily downloads from the mind of someone who was destined to see things just a little differently.
